Introduction
- Fenoxaprop-P-Ethyl 10% EC.
Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl is a selective herbicide with contact and systemic action. Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl is used to control annual and perennial grass weeds and (when applied with the herbicide safener mefenpyr-diethyl) annual and perennial grass weeds and wild oats.
Biochemistry:
Fenoxaprop-p-Ethyl is a fatty acid synthesis inhibition in grasses, by inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase).
Mode of action:
Fenoxaprop-p-Ethyl is a selective Herbicide with contact and systemic action, absorbed principally by the leaves, with translocation both acropetally and basipetally to the roots or rhizomes.
Uses:
Post-emergence control of annual and perennial grass weeds in potatoes, beans, soya beans, beets, vegetables, peanuts, flax, oilseed rape, and cotton; and (when applied with the Herbicide safener mefenpyr-diethyl) annual and perennial grass weeds and wild oats in wheat, rye, triticale and, depending on ratio, in some varieties of barley.
Phytotoxicity:
Fenoxaprop-p-Ethyl is a non-phytotoxic to broad-leaved crops.
Crops:
Cereals (wheat, barley), rice and soybeans.
Weed Spectrum:
Alopecurus spp., Avena spp., Bracchiaria spp., Digitaria spp., Ischaemum spp., Setaria spp., Phalaris spp., Echinochloa spp., Leptochloa spp. and Panicum spp.
Precautions:
(a) Avoid inhalation, skin or oral contact with the weerdicide
(b) Do not chew tobacco, eat food or smoke during spraying
(c) While spraying, use protective clothing, including goggles, rubber gloves, boots, mask, overall rubber apron, hood or hat
(d) spray only in the direction of wind currents and not against so as to avoid spray drifts setting on body
(e) Wash hands well with soap and water affter spraying
(f) Clean sprayer thoroughly with water after spraying
